In a small town in the middle of no where
On a big Montana plain
I met a lady sitting on a park bench
She was crying in the wind and rain
Well this blonde haired - blue eyed lady
Said she grew up a home town girl
And her family and friends had all gone away
She said she never got to see the world
Now she's there alone turnin to stone
And she's been there so long she don't know where to go
She works the five and dime
Where she sits all the time and remembers the fun she had so long ago
She said she a chance to leave once
She met a man in a traveling band
But she was too scared to leave her family
And too young to understand
Then I remembered her
From years ago when I came to this part of the land
I just can't believe that she's still here
And I'm still in a traveling band
